The SERENA project is targeting a GaN-on-Silicon E-/W-band single-chip MMIC for mm-wave wireless communication and radar sensors demanding low noise and high linearity. Such highly integrated front-end solutions may result in more affordable high performance RF systems.

In SERENA_H2020 we at TU Berlin have the great opportunity to validate and demonstrate our theoretical work with real hardware, something not common in the field of mmwave signal processing research.

At Chalmers University of Technology we are investigating the multi-physical effects of self-heating in the SERENA module. An experimental setup using commercial components has been built to make us well prepared for when the modules arrive!
